Scientists and policy makers use many tools to determine and monitor the
health of the Hudson River Estuary. Physical measurements such as
temperature and turbidity, society’s multiple uses of resources, and
population studies of the species in and along the river are all
important indicators of the river’s condition.
The “Hudson River Report Card” is a regular feature in our newsletter,
the Navigator, that examines some of these indicators. Members receive
home delivery of this newsletter every two months (Membership is
available through this website). The “Report Cards” are reprinted here
for personal or academic uses.
